چکیده
ly, this is achieved by means of a combination of three aspects: 1. A range of message types, which are based on Searle's speech act theory and which are grounded in a sound logical framework. 2. A series of notations in which logical propositions, actions and objects can be expressed. 3. The use of explicitly referenced ontologies that allow agents to interpret the identifiers in a communication relative to one or more shared interpretations of those identifiers. 9.2 Scope of This Discussion The scope of this discussion is the concepts, structures and semantics required to support the three aspects identified above, taking into account the context of other elements of FIPA specifications, in particular the FIPA abstract architecture.

Agents Standards
This paper summarises a presentation made to a meeting on Intelligent Agent Technology organised by the EPSRC Community Club in Advanced Computing Techniques. The paper briefly reviews the needs, objectives and difficulties of standardisation for intelligent agents, then discusses one particular current activity: the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA). In particular, the FIPA 97 ...
متن کاملDesigning Agents with Multi-attribute Preference Models for Intelligent Telecommunication Services
In this paper, we present a multi-criteria decision aid methodology optimizing the performance of Service Provider Agents in a Virtual Private Network, according to the Specifications posed by the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA). We enhance the basic protocol steps for a service brokering procedure, and apply the methodology to a specific case of Network Providers: the Interne...
متن کاملA Context-aware Architecture for Mental Model Sharing through Semantic Movement in Intelligent Agents
Recent studies in multi-agent systems are paying increasingly more attention to the paradigm of designing intelligent agents with human inspired concepts. One of the main cognitive concepts driving the core of many recent approaches in multi agent systems is shared mental models. In this paper, we propose an architecture for sharing mental models based on a new concept called semantic movement....
متن کاملOpal: A Multi-Level Infrastructure for Agent-Oriented Software Development
The Opal architecture for software development is described that supports the use of agent-oriented concepts at multiple levels of abstraction. At the lowest level are micro-agents, streamlined agents that can be used for conventional, system-level programming tasks. More sophisticated agents may be constructed by assembling combinations of micro-agents. The architecture consequently supports t...
متن کاملModels and Modules for Production Agents
In this paper, a new concept for the development of production agents is presented. This “prototyping suite” consists of new agent models and Multi-AgentSystem (MAS) models, methods for agentification and development considering agent standards like FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) for agent interaction and available tools. Furthermore, a new taxonomy for agents as well as an e...
